BulletBG Song Manuscript

BG SONG (BICYCLING GRANDMAS)
COMPOSED IN APRIL 1999 WHILE BICYCLING
ACROSS CALIFORNIA & ARIZONA
THE FIRST BICYCLE RIDE FOR HD FROM PACIFIC TO ATLANTIC

Charlotte and Evelyn were grandmothers – Marie was not. It was first sung to a couple in a 1-story tiny pink cement block restaurant in Kansas --The Pink Coyote. After the song, the owner/cook/waitress/cleaning lady, went to the cash register and pulled out a $20 bill – Our first on-the-road donation for Huntington’s Disease! The BG song was then sung across the US in 1999.

It has not been sung since on any of the following 10 bicycle rides for Huntington’s disease, because – These rides have been basically Marie and Charlotte with Charlotte being the only grandmother. However, in 2009, MARIE BECAME A GRANDMOTHER, so the BG song will be sung once again in 2011!

It is a song sung by our sons – Marie has 2 sons and Charlotte has 2 sons.

Hey, Hey, hey out there, stop what you’re doin’ and give us your ear.
We’ve gotta a song that you wanna hear about the BGs, the BGs
The bicycling grandmas from Grand Junction, Colorado.

Call the state police, call the state patrol. They’re out there again.
They’re out of our control. The grandkids are wondering where their grandmas are.
The BGs, the BGs.

Never mind their wrinkles. Never mind their gray hair.
We can’t keep ’em home in their rocking chair.
They’ll zip right by before you can say “STOP”.
The BGs, the BGs.

We know they have to do this.
We know it’s in their heart.
We know that God has sent them to do their part.
To spread the HD message throughout the USA.
The BGs, the BGs.

Every day we pray for their safety.
Every day we pray for their message.
Every day we pray for good people to help them on their way, way, way.

We know that God is with them.
We know he’ll bring them home.
But we just get kinda nervous when they decide to roam.
And we’ll sure be glad to see them when they return to Grand Junction, Colorado
The BGs, the bicycling grandmas. BABABA BOOM!
